Museums
Visits to aviation museums and space centers — getting up close with historic aircraft, rare prototypes, and the machines that shaped aviation and spaceflight history. Posts include a trip to Castle Air Museum in Atwater, California, home to a large outdoor collection of military aircraft including the B-52 Stratofortress, F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and many other Cold War-era jets and transports. There’s also a visit to Kennedy Space Center in Florida, covering the Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit, the Apollo 11 Saturn V rocket, the Vehicle Assembly Building, and the history of NASA’s crewed spaceflight programs from Mercury through the Space Shuttle era.
